I picked this item up to hold my GPS in place in my car. (I can’t stand having it stuck on the windshield.) I have a full sized (approx 4 inch) GPS unit. The “organizer” holds the unit with a bit of room to spare and stays put on the dash while driving. It is nicely constructed with nylon sides and a rubber bottom and heavy duty stitching. The primary issue with this item is the depth of the holder – it is rather shallow. For some reason the sand-like substance that gives the weight to the unit is placed in the center of the pit where you put your electronics. Maybe it is supposed to hold them in better? In any event, the interior depth of the organizer is shallow. That said, it is perfectly functional and I certainly would not want it to be any larger.
The Thule Electronics Organizer is simply put a nicely constructed and affordable holder for your electronics.

I love my Thule storage rack that currently sits atop my Volvo cross-country wagon. That product is well-made and well-used.
I can’t give the same rave review for this electronics organizer. The good news is that the organizer is perfectly sized for a single PDA or cell phone, and the organizer has a good cushion to protect the electronics that rest inside.
The bad news is that the configuration of my particular car means that there are only two places where the organizer can fit if another adult is riding shotgun – either the floor or the dashboard. I don’t like putting the organizer on the floor – it’s unsafe to keep your phone there in case you try to grab it when it rings and there’s always the risk you will step on your own electronics. I’d rather put the phone in the glove compartment.
So the only remaining place is the dashboard. Unfortunately, the Volvo dashboard is sloped even though there is plenty of surface area for the organizer. The organizer has a no-skid surface on the bottom, which indicates that the makers thought it could work on the dashboard. But the sloping surface is too steep – any turn greater than 60 degrees at 15 miles an hour causes the organizer to slide off the dashboard. This is unacceptable.
This product may be perfect for you if you have a wide, flat dashboard, or even one that slopes slightly toward the windshield. We used to drive a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, and I think it may have worked well there. The product also might work well if you have a large center console or some other unused flat space (possibly in a minivan or crossover like the Ford Flex). But minivans have a surplus of cupholders and storage locations anyway, so I don’t know if this product would offer much increased utility there.
So consider your car carefully before picking up this product. For the right car, it might be a five-star gadget, but for the wrong car, not so much.

If you have a slick dashboard you know how easily your phone and whatever else you toss up there slips off when you accelerate, stop, and especially turn. The Thule electronics organizer solves that problem. It is basically a weighted fabric basin with a non-skid bottom. You can toss whatever you want inside and the Thule will tend to stay put on the dashboard. There isn’t really any ability to organize the contents inside, so I’m not sure why they call it an organizer: It is just a basin. It is deep enough to easily accomodate an iPod or phone, but stack those 3 deep and they’ll easily slip over the top edge; it’s pretty shallow.
The shallow and small TTEO-1 is perfect for me; I don’t want anything too bulky up on the dashboard. With the Thule I can mindlessly toss my iPod and phone into it and not have to worry about them slipping off. It’s nothing fancy; it’s super simple; that’s sorta the point.

So I’m driving down the street, slightly above the 45 mph speed limit, but by no means trying to break any Nascar records, thinking to myself, “Gee, this new thing on my dash is OK!” It’s holding my Motorola Krzr, and pretty much nothing larger than that small flip phone would fit, so if you have a large phone, (IE IPhone or equivalent), it won’t fit! Anyway, so I’m driving down the road and take right turn, as people tend to do while driving places, and the electronic organizer/holder/thingy goes flying right onto the floor, along with my phone. So at this point, I’m thinking maybe I put it in the wrong place on my dash, so I reposition it and give it another shot-this time the ever popular left turn-again, it goes flying! To give the product a fair shake, I reposition it in yet another place and continue driving-needless to say, I took about 6 different turns with this on my dash in a new position and each time the result was the same-flying off the dashboard and onto the floor, my lap, or even into the backseat-remember, I’m not going 100 mph here, people, just ordinary suburban style driving/traffic!
In addition to it flying all over the place, it’s dimensions are not really what they appear to be in the product description because the inside is filled with a beanbag type weight to help it from moving around, obviously not really working!! So if you have a phone any larger than a small flip style, it’s not going to fit! Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this product, in fact, I’ve already taken it out of my car and I’m trying to figure out what to do with it now!

I keep my cell phone in this organizer. It has come in handy and I lose my phone much less than before.
